Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway with her voice, also gave the song a boost of recognition. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memories involve finding a tiny piano in her basement and bewildered by the sound it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music for development of her own, not as a way of earning a living or to pursue an interest. She began to write writing her own songs. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork as her main influences. In response to her mother's suggestions that she should not be aiming at achieving fame through their songwriting skills, she instead be aware of the significance of them and their impact on society. She was suggested by her mother to be able to perform her music publicly in order in order to make people aware of their own importance and how they can affect the world. Her family didn't know until the age of 14. Aurora's accomplishments were never her goal. The only thing she loves is writing songs. She believes music can make people feel more relaxed.
